ICYMI: Hearing on Preventing Nuclear Smuggling at U.S. Ports

On October 27, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee held a hearing titled "Prevention of and Response to the Arrival of a Dirty Bomb at a U.S. Port."

The hearing consisted of two panels. The first featured testimony from representatives of the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Government Accountability Office. The second featured scientists from U.S. nuclear weapons laboratories, a representative of the American Association of Port Authorities, and the Director of the Center for Resilience Studies at Northeastern University.
