Ambassadors Jeffrey DeLaurentis, Jose Antonio Sabadell Named Fellows with Harvard’s Future of Diplomacy Project

Ambassador Jeffrey DeLaurentis, former Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba, and José Antonio Sabadell, former Ambassador of the European Union to Mauritania, have been named Fellows with the Future of Diplomacy Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. DeLaurentis has been named Senior Diplomatic Fellow and Sabadell will be the first Rafael del Piño-MAEC (Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation) Fellow at the Future of Diplomacy Project. His fellowship is supported by a grant by the Rafael del Piño Foundation based in Madrid, Spain.

Ambassador Douglas E. Lute Named Senior Fellow by Belfer Center's Future of Diplomacy Project

The Future of Diplomacy Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs has named Ambassador Douglas E. Lute a Senior Fellow. While at the Kennedy School, Ambassador Lute will initiate a research project focused on NATO and transatlantic relations that will address the multiplicity of challenges facing the alliance as it approaches its 70th anniversary. He will also share his expertise in security and diplomacy by conducting seminars and study groups with students and fellows.

Jake Sullivan named Senior Fellow with the Future of Diplomacy Project

Harvard Kennedy School’s Future of Diplomacy Project is proud to name Jake Sullivan a Senior Fellow. He will share his expertise with Kennedy School students and fellows through seminars and study groups on campus, and contribute to the Project’s goal of advancing the public understanding of diplomacy and its practice for the United States. The Future of Diplomacy Project is part of the Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Al-Ississ will be in residence at Harvard for the Spring 2014 semester, where he will conduct a research project that seeks to formulate a better understanding of the Arab World post-Arab Spring.

Future of Diplomacy Project Selects Senior Indian Strategist as Fall 2013 Fisher Family Fellow

The Future of Diplomacy Project at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School has appointed C. Raja Mohan as a fall 2013 Fisher Family Fellow. Mohan will be in residence for two weeks in October, teach a study group on India’s foreign policy and regional priorities and deliver a public address on October 31 titled “India and the U.S. pivot to Asia: Between Geopolitical Opportunity and Strategic Autonomy.”

The Middle East Initiative (MEI) at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs today announced the selection of the fall 2013 Kuwait Foundation Visiting Scholar, Professor Djavad Salehi-Isfahani. Salehi-Isfahani will be in residence at Harvard for the fall 2013 semester, where he will participate in MEI events, lead an 8-week seminar series titled, “The Politics and Economics of Transitions in the Middle East,” and work closely with Harvard students and faculty.
